Formation and Early Days

Guns N' Roses was formed in 1985 when Axl Rose, a charismatic and enigmatic frontman, joined forces with guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The band’s lineup was later solidified with the addition of guitarist Slash, who became one of the most recognizable figures in rock music. They started out playing small venues around Los Angeles, quickly gaining a reputation for their electrifying live performances and rebellious attitude.
